The other night as per a notification for viewers of Channel 69, WFMZ-TV, Allentown, PA is moving to a lower frequency as of 7/18/18. They went from UHF down to the VHF band. WFMZ is a great independent broadcaster.

I rescan frequently. ( not that many stations here) I watch so little TV that I often miss announcements of new channels in the area. I found one of the stations added GRIT a couple months ago and none of my family or friends were aware of it.

There is very little awareness of the need to rescan. Most people do not seem to know that something called subchannels exist and if I mention to someone that a particular local station is really at another frequency I get an incredulous look. Consequently I say nothing about it.
