I have a 721 and two other single cable receivers.

Currently, I have 4 cables from the roof to my switch. It is the older switch with 4 outputs (don't recall name right now).

Can I use my old switch with the 942 or do I need to buy a new "DPP44" ??

Sounds like you have an SW44. It supports 4 tuners, and your already have all them in use, so if you're adding the 942 without removing any existing boxes, you're going to have to either add another dish (probably the cheapest way), or replace ALL your existing outdoor gear with DishPro so you can use a DPP44.

In other words, you need two more feeds (or one DPPlus), and there's NO way to do that with your existing outdoor gear.

I did some browsing. We have an sw64 and the receiver will be replacing the 721, so we should be good to go, I guess.

good luck. seems to me at least that the older sw-Xx gear causes problems with 942's. if you can i would upgrade to the DPP gear now. The bigger question is what other receivers you have.

Does anybody know if some areas will go from SD 105 to D1000?
