Audio drop outs

It happens here with a 622, HDMI only, since Optical sound to stereo is OK. Pressing any key (usually pause then resume) on 622 remote clears it up for a while. Also OTA channels (especially HD PBS) freeze momentarily when recording and playing back then skip back to real time thus skipping part of program broadcast during skip. When backing over skipped portions, they play ok for a while, and then skip at other points.

We just went into our Toy room, hooked up a 922 on WA and a 722 on EA. We put the 722 on 192, and within the first couple minutes we witnessed the audio dropout. We were in the middle of hooking up the 922 when this happened, but after the 922 was hooked up, we have yet to see a dropout. Just wanted to all of you know we're researching it.

I'm getting quite a few short drop outs on my 722 tonight trying to watch Bourne Identity on Encore HD. I'm guessing it is the same problem mentioned in this thread.

Had same problem watching HBO East last night using HDMI. Sound drop outs stop for a short time if you pause and restart it will work for awhile. I have a 722 and it seems since the last update it has been really flakey. Flakey has in directly after update I had to reboot receiver several times because it acted like it had a hard drive failure. Been stable now for awhile.

I am still having audio dropouts. Yesterday, I watched 2 University of Connecticut basketball games and there were multiple momentary dropouts. The womens game was on a local channel (CPTV) and the guys game was on channel SNY.

Had numerous drop outs in the last hour of viewing Repo Men on HBO Saturday night. Noticed it on the optical out, switched to HDMI audio and still there. This on a 622. Switched over to the non HD Feed, still there.

I am new and dont know all the languages and arcs so excuse me for sounding well..like a newbie.
I am in NJ and have a VIP211. I have been experiencing drop outs as well. Every channel. Not just certain ones. I would say its every 10 to 15 mins.

Been having the audio dropouts since it was first reported.

Setup
622 hdmi
Eastern Arc

Happening on many recorded shows as well as Hist,Disc, and Natgeo

Seems like it is getting worse.Have already tried a reset with no change.

Two more drop outs tonight so far watching Wolfman which I'm watching about 1 hour behind on HBO HD. One at about 1:21 remaining and one at 1:12 remaining. I watched this time and when the sound drops out, the Dolby HD light doesn't go out during the silence like it would if the audio channel just goes away. what is causing it is weird. One more time on this show and I'll call dish. Again at 59 minutes remaining. Ok... long stream of multiple drops. for sure dish needs to look into this, or my 622 is dying.

I have a 622 with the same the audio problem. Doesn't matter if its live, DVR, HDMI or a channel out to the TV. It's always done it but never this bad. Audio goes out for a second or two and they comes backs. I've done all the reboots lately to get my channels after the death of Absolute. Also it doesn't matter what channel.

HDD High Temp: 104
HDD Low Temp: 84
HDD Average Temp: 96
HD: 25hr 27min SD; 169hr 39min Avail

Question is when will E* fix it.

Anyone given odds on how long it takes E* to fix it.

How about some kind of answer from the E* people running the forum, or is that asking to much.:rant:

622, EA.

I've noticed not only audio but brief video blackouts on various HD channels; e.g. Golf.

At this point I have so many other things to do I don't want to get into it but when I get to the point I'm re-evaluating providers, I'll see what Dish says.

Hi Everyone ...

Just one more person experiencing the audio drop-outs. I don't remember which channels or shows, but we've seen it on our VIP722 off and on for a few weeks now. It's generally only for a few seconds if that, but it happens often enough that my wife and I have both commented on it a few times.

FYI --

I have posted on this before, put in a LOT of reports about it which included links to this thread. Haven't heard anything else regarding the dropouts. We were able to duplicate the audio dropout a couple of times in our test room, now it's just a matter of figuring out what's causing it. Please be patient, I'm doing my best to escalate this.

I've noticed many audio drop outs lately on my 722k and eastern arc . Last night on Universal hd it dropped out 4 times in the episode of Charlie's Angels.
