Australian [cricket] batsman Hughes dies from head injury

Apparently the ball hit him in the head behind his ear where the batting helmet doesn't offer any protection at all. Also I just read that a cricket ball can travel 90mph off of a bounce. I've tried to watch a cricket match a number of times & it's just too hard for me to get into,especially since a match can last all day. Maybe they should use a modified baseball or softball batting helmet which would cover the head more & offer more protection for the batter. Even though deaths are very rare in cricket,this is the second death of a batter in 2 years.
