The site was hijacked (the question is by whom). All the people that I have contacted so far are as surprised as everyone here. Even the webmaster. So here we go again. We are continuing to try to get more information on this latest development.

Just off the phone

Hey guys,

Just got off the phone with a CSR who was in total shock when I mentioned the voom.com information. I acted a little bit upset to see if I could get a little more information from the supervisor and she assured me that "She beleived this information to be erroneous, and that I had absolutely nothing to worry about as far as the service going black," It was also mentioned that they are still taking new installs.

Is anyone else ready for this drama to end? I wish this family would keep their laundry private and stop jerking people around. I love voom. In fact I'll probably sell my $5000+ projection setup if voom goes off the air. I'm just tired of the uncertainty. Especially with no real alternatives for Sat. TV.

God bless Chuck... May james be f.......

And...for everyone still wondering, there was a post back on page TWO of this thread that states that the site was hacked.

Doesn't anyone read anymore? lol

This thread is being hit with new posts so quickly that by the time you type a reply there are 6 more messages!!

The post that the site was hacked is just a theory at this point. Nobody seems to know what is really going on.

if the call centers are being told that it's business as usual then how do you explain this Amphicar770?

Exactly the point. Until we get a definitive answer, we can not explain it.

It could be the work of a hacker, it could be something authorized by Junior, it could be that the company is so operationally screwed up that Voom is dead and they updated the web before they made an announcement to the call center. Every one of these theories is so incredibly bizzare that none of us can explain it. I hope what is posted on voom.com is not true but explaining it is beyond me.

Don't they control the server?

Why can't they shut it down to avoid further confusion?

If a hack or a hoax, it is possible that traffic is being somehow redirected to another server beyond vooms control.

the message I posted was sent to the call center AFTER the call center learned what happened to the site.

SEAN DID SAY SOMETHING...lol

Here's his post from page 2:

C'mon folks...take a pill, smoke a bone, sit back, relax...take a deep breath...and use some common sense :)

Exactly, if it's hacked shut down the server and/or redirect to a 'construction page'. It's not difficult for a webmaster to do. Maybe someone at VOOM is giving orders to do this....legit or not.
