Played 1/2 of a season at SDSU with Tony Gwynn. He was a better human being than a baseball player. 100% genuine guy. Whether he knew you or not, when you spoke to him, he wanted to talk about you. I feel like I've been punched in the gut. RIP Mr. Padre.

Absolutely. Probably could of hit .400 in 94 if not for the strike.

He was my favorite non-Red Sox player growing up. His swing was flawless.

When I lived in Chicago, I saw a Padres-Cubs game and I went very early to see him hit during batting practice. I was hypnotized on his approach when hitting. He was as perfect hitter you will ever see.

He was underrated and overlooked. But he was one of the greats. I am very sad.
