Ciel 2 Tracking

Well that was fun. Watched on the BLSA. Only 11 transponders were active and then the others started popping up like mushrooms. In California I am currently seeing 27 transponders. Transponders 3, 6, 8, 11, and 13 are not active at this time. (I suspect they may be spot beams).

what are you guys getting on tp's 1-16. those should be spot so you should only get one. i can't check them fast enough. right now 1-5 no sig.

i'm getting signal now on tps' 7, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16. they are definetely doing something though. i used to have the same dropping/rising signals accross the board now some are newly dead, while the others are medium strenght, others higher strength. i would give readings but i am not continental usa. for example 19 is different strength than 16,17,18. probably new bird. you guys in continental usa probably have stronger on 19 right now.

just a moment ago. maybe 1-16 are still on e*5. i would lose them completely sometimes. or they could be spotted now.

On 30-inch dish (clearly some are still on E*5):

i'd say the 1-16 are still on e*5. at least some of them like tp 7. that just came back to life for me here like it always used to. our readings for 17-32 seem perfectly parallel. these must be ciel 2 since they are holding the same level which e*5 could never do.

damn kstuart a 30in dish i figured you would get better than that i guess it depends where your located im using a dish 500 i think its like a 22in or something. yours is bout par with mine.
'll probably take a few days to get the spot beams going but for the con/us there all running and very nicely at that. i say e-5 will be out to 148 by Sunday or Monday.

lower channels are switching

Right now I'm seeing the lower channels being turned off and on again. So must be there are trying them to see if they are steady. Maybe they are making sure that each bank of channels are fully in cotrol and working correctly. And yes everything 17 & above are much stronger now. Just saw them switch from E5 to Ciel 2 and back again as a test. 32 is now a stable 91 w/my .9 meter dish. 1 is up to 74 now was in the 50's & 60's before. The bird is definitely very alive and kickin.

5 was just transferred went from the upper 05's to the mid 7y0's. 1 is still being switch off and on but when on is in mid 70's. Expect to see all channels stable w/in the hour. Goin to bed had enuff excitement. 6 is still coming off of E5 in the low 50's. Figure by 6 EST that the spots will be redirected and all signals on full power. They seem to be adjusting the power output of the channels. Have seen some of the go into the mid 90's then backed down to mid 70's.

Ciel-2 has quite a tight CONUS footprint on the US beam coverage.

Can anyone report current signal levels for Ciel-2 TPs.

Digiblur, were do you get the info on coverage? I live in the caribbean and used to get E*5 within the 40s with a 2.4m dish although wobbling did cause loss of signal every hour. Now I'm only getting the transponders I believe are still on E*5 and 0 on the rest, i.e. 17 and up.

I guess you were right. Any suggestions.
