Anyone familiar with terms
"garden hackle"? or "cackle berries"?

Wow, have not heard that expression in years. My grandmother used to say cackle berries.

Bingo! I knew cackle berries as chicken eggs. Bu t only a handful of people I know ever knew the term. The term garden hackle I never heard either, but that's not chicken eggs

My Dad called eggs cackle berries, he was raised in Texas, but could have picked it up during WWII...

I have heard taht in the Boston area as well. of course the accent isa bit different than Wisconsin.

Here's another: hoagie, grinder, hero, wedge - all mean the same thing depending on where you are from.

You forgot the one where I came from: submarine sandwich.

Here's a couple that my dear old dad (born in Canada) used to say: antigoglin and cattywampus. Both mean "diagonally across from".
