I have a slimline dish that I want a SWM setup on. I have limited space for pulling cables and already have 1 cable ran. I have a used slimline dish. I dont fully understand the difference between the two types available.

3 lnb AU9-SL3 Triple LNB Ka/Ku Slim Line SWM= sats. 99,101,103
or
5 lnb sl5 MPEG4 Ku/Ka Dish SWM= sats. 99,101,103 110,119

I see one has 2 more sats available? Im in phoenix metro area. I do want local channels. I dont know if i need the 110 and 119?

Call Dtv tech support and ask them what bird your locals come from.
You will most likely want the #5.

Let me rephrase my thread: I have a 2nd dish that I need to setup. DTV just came out and put up a HD slimline dish. It looks like a sl3 because it only has one LNB?

Oh gotcha. It looks like one lnb but there are really 3 eyes in it. Its how the new swm lnbs look.
Thing of the future..

I think for your area you'd be fine with either. All the major locals are in HD and come from 99 or 103.

There is little content on 110/119 unless you are after international or a few public interest channels. My thread showing the channels by package guide (stickied) indicates the channels that are 119 required. Unless you watch any of those you'd be fine with a SWM3 LNB.
