Its very apparent that a IBOC signal has much less coverage than the overall analog coverage area yet we still get tons side hash canceling out other stations... NO one mentions this. one of the local engineers of a public radio station in my market informed me that the fcc is limiting the iboc output to only 10% of the total analog output because any higher iboc power output level would interefere with the stations analog signal not to mention any adjacent channel. i.e a 50kw fm station can only use 1kw of iboc digital hd.. no wonder the coverage area is so limited to the primary service contours even in the primary service area there are drop outs..... great for line of sight coverage folks. 50kw am station have somewhat larger iboc coverage areas.. get your big antennas out!!! seriously this system is big time flaws..
