I'm wanting to add Indy HD locals to my Absolute package. Currently have Two dish 500's,one with the single adapter pointed at 61.5. My question is, would my signal strenghs be higher with present set repointed at 129 or using a used Dish 1000.2 I can purchace off of Craigs list at a good price. I only run a VIP622 and have two lines run to the tuners. Any advice?? Thanks

If you have a clear line of sight for the 129 then I would go ahead and make the jump and remove that other Dish. The 1000.2 will give you more options later on as in more receivers since it gives you 3 outputs vs only two from the 500 without adding a switch.

This is identical to what I had. When I went HD, the installer said there was no LOS to 129, (where the 110/119 sat was located) hence the 61.5 dish. This could very well be your situation. I asked for a re-install (when the locals came up). We ended up moving the dish about 20' and caught 129 with the 1000.2

The dish 500 is a 20" dish and dosen't have a compromised focal point if it is using the" I "adapter instead of the "Y". It should have the strongest signal and you already own it.

Thanks. I will also look more into the dish 500.

Here is the update. I just returned the vip622 to the primary home in central Indiana from the lake place in northern Indiana which has a dish 1000. I swung the 61.5 dish 500 with I adapter to129, with great results. Trans.5=50,trans.18(my weak one)=60,trans.32(hot)=71. The dish 1000 was trans.5=50,trans.18=30,trans.32=37. I know that the dish 1000 is a poorly designed,so the stronger signals were expected. What baffels me is that the spotbeam trans.5 is the same on both dishes. The installer of the dish 1000 said I hava a clear veiw of 129 . I tweaked all three settings and peaked on 129. The only signals the same are trans. 5. Any thoughts?

What happened to BBCA HD???

will 2700 and 3000 receivers still work?
