Does Free 622 Mean No More Plan Discounts?

I was hoping someone would know if the plan discounts that E is offering now will end once the VIP622 becomes free on February 1st. I'm assuming yes, because right now they're offering $200 in discounts ($20/month for 10 months), which cancels out the cost of the receiver, but still, I was just wondering. Thanks!
 
I was thinking of coming back to Dish from cable and will wait for the free 622 beginning in Feb 1 but is there a limit of only one? I need two of them. Also if I do get two is there anything that would stop me from getting a regular dvr for another tv?

well if they do give you two 622's then you would have to buy the "regular" dvr for the other tv because Dish only gives you four tuners in DHA.
 
Now here's an interesting idea with a twist.

As of Feb 1st, only new customers are eligible for the free upgrade to the 622. Ok, with that said, couldn't a current Dish customer cancel and then come back as an AT&T/Dish sub to take advantage of that offer?

First, I get the impression that someone signing up under the DishDVR Advantage program will forfeit the $200 rebate. I sure hope this isn't the case, butt I'm going to have to see the promotion details on the E* website before I condede.

Second, did anyone verify if ALL additional Dish DVR Fees are waived under the DishDVR Advantage program, or just the DVR Fee for the 1st leased 622? The CES promotion didn't address this issue.
 
I am so p*ssed that only new subs get the free dvr. I upgraded in my contract to the newer HD box some months back so now I cannot upgrade without paying full price. It just is not fair only new subs get the dvr. It is almost worth it to pay the cancellation fee and re-join to get the DVR.:mad:
 
I too am really interested to see if they'll give me two 622's. I'm preparted to sign up on February 1st if they'll actually install two of them in one shot.

I'm stuck in the middle of this stupid Mediacom / Sinclair fight and dying for a new provider. Plus anything other then these useless Motorola DVR's. I need one 622 for the upstairs, I plan on using the TV2 modulated output through the exisitng wiring of the house for the rest of my SD TV's.

Then, I want the 2nd 622 for my projector downstairs in the home theater. If they really give me one for free and another for 200 with the 20 bucks off for 10 months, I'm sold. I have no qualms with the 18 month commitment if necessary.
 
I would be really happy with only 1 622 if they would let me have it for free! As a long time sub (7 years now) I know that isn't going to happen. What I would like to know is when they are planning on discontinuing the 625? I am not interested in HD programming right now but would like to have a 622 because of the extra features it has over the 625. Any chance Dish is going to throw us long time SD-only subs a bone?
 
I think if you holler and scream a bit (nicely of course), you might find that Dish might throw you a bone. I just bit the bullet and got a HD tv this past weekend and I think someone said that you can go directly to a retention specialist and you might get what you want. Because I haven't tried this I don't know if it'll work but you might have to threaten to cancel before something will happen.

Does this mean that that you can forgo the 18 month re-commitment is you go this route?


The 622 upgrade is exactly what I have been waiting for!!!
 
What does "new" customer mean? Somebody that has never been with Dish before or currently not a customer?

My sister was with dish more than 2 years ago.. wondering if she still qualify as new?
Maybe I can send her a Dish Club invite thing to go with this as well.
