I have subscribed to Dish now for 3 months, and I have yet to find
Dolby 5.1 audio on any of the HBO/Cinemax movies, fot that matter on any channel. When I select "Info" all I see is "Stereo". I have an 811 receiver that is Dolby 5.1 capable. Also, in System setup I have selected Dolby.

Your comments or feedback will be appreciated.

Are you watching HD channels? Every HD show I've watched on ShowtimeHD has had DD 5.1 and I know HBO does as well. Do you have the HDPack or Voom10? They are all DD 5.1.

Thanks for your reply. I am subscribed to HD pack. I will check channel 9456.
Have you received 5.1 audio in channels 300-314 range (HBO-Cinemax) ?

Regards

i think the only 5.1 that dish supports are the ppv that has 5.1 indicated, the hd channels, hbo e and w, sho e and w, starz e and w.

the one thing i enjoy about cable is that if it is broadcasted in 5.1, then we get it in 5.1. i still can't understand why dish does not support 5.1 more.

korsjs has it right except that the entire Showtime suite is availabe with DD but all we get is the main channel (E, W & HD). Dish should at least include DD for TMC feeds included in AT180. That support would be a nice enhancement to a non-premium package with a minimal drain on bandwidth.
