Dumping Voom

I've had it.

I'm tired of the crappy customer service, the rain fade, the screwed up appointment that left me sitting at home minus a vacation day.

No answers on when channels will be added and they are missing some of the big ones.

My big dish was escalated and never heard a word back, emailed wilt, got an initial response and nothing after that.

Voom can't charge my credit card right, thats the only good thing about this, they screwed it up and billing hasn't been able to charge us for 4 months, which is fine because thats about what they owe me for taking a day off of work for nothing.

I don't care for DTV or Dish, but at least it will be better than this and we can watch the shows we want to watch.

I'll bet this is going to be a reoccuring theme. Voom is doomed, the lunatics run the asylum and the one or two people who may know what they are doing are locked in padded rooms. The CSR's are useless, someone should tell them to press that red button until their blue in the face.

Its pretty bad when a customer cancels something they are not even paying for.

RE: [VOOM] Re: Dumping Voom

Just where are the FOX Sports Channels that is my question.

I may dump VOOM on December 31st, I do not like their new pricing at all.
Lets hope they retool things by then.

We will see where things are in December. If things improve, PQ improvements, WM9, more channels and Voom still offers more than D* at that time, and they fix the sales tax issue id probably stay. But they must let me buy recievers and install them myself if they are here to stay. That would get rid of the rental charge and make the bill easier to swallow.

USA has been added?

Ok, thats half the problem...where is Sci Fi?

Re: [VOOM] Re: Dumping Voom

Who are you going to install receivers for? How many do you need?
This statement is meaningless. Voom does not have to change their
policy. Just get a subcontract with Installs Inc. They hire anybody.

RE: [VOOM] Dumping Voom

To me, Voom will be complete when they get us Sci-Fi, HGTV & the DVR.
Personally, I still do not understand why people have two services. That's
just nuts. Looking long term, I know the DirectTv/NFL Contract expires at
the end of the coming season so I'm hopeful the NFL will open NFL Sunday
ticket to everyone else, Voom HD included :)

[VOOM] Re: Dumping Voom

Speaking of that I forgot that I get the MLB Extra Innings package
and the NHL Center Ice pacakge through cable, also. I could never
due without those sports packages.

You see I am Cablevision's number one customer. From digital cable,
sports packages, internet service, and VOOM I pay them the most
money per month of anyone. :)

What I think Vurbono means (and I agree) is until they will allow me to do my on install instead of paying some worthless/ignorant installer $199.00 for something I'll probably have to tweak myself if I'm in a hurry to watch any Voom channel or wait till same installer or another installer comes back in 3 to 7 weeks to screw it up more, then they "should change their policy"... It's rediculous for a knowledgable person or someone with just an inch of common sense to have to wait sometimes up to 2 or 3 months to get the service to just start working and still not working right... Just because the policy is "no self installs", you have got to wait for the incompetent installer... If you're a do it yourself kind of person, Voom don't want you, go get D* or E*... I think his statement is valid and meaningful and as for you, I hope your service is great and you never need to have an installer come in, because then you just might see what Vurbono is talking about... Have a nice day...

If you own the equipment then I do not see why they would have a problem with you installing your own. That's what I'm going to do with our Directv service when we move.

If you are leasing your own equipment then I can see why they would have a problem.

Re: [VOOM] Re: Dumping Voom

I actually know exactly what he is talking about. That's why I said=20
they hire anybody. After my installer left, I went out to my dish=20
farm, (I have 2 10ft C-Band dishes, 2 Dish, and Direct-triple, plus=20
Voom), and peaked the Voom to 96-98 from his 84. I took down the OTA=20
antenna ran new RG6 and put the Stealth on a tower 35 feet in the air.=20=20
I'm 45 miles from the transmitters and before this new scanning=20
software I was receiving 78 to 88 signal strength. The Stealth is only=20
rated for 30 miles. When the installer had to come back out to swap=20
the STB due to the lockup problem, he couldn't believe it, he's never=20
seen any signal over 60. The big kicker was when I showed him Discovery=20
HD and PBS HD off my C-Band and compared it to Voom, Directv, and Dish,=20
V, D*, and D* looks like standard definition to the original feed off=20
C-Band. He wanted to know what cable looked like, "it was better."=20=20
Dude, cable is called "BDT"--BLURRED DEFINITION TV. The whole point=20
is if you want something done right , do it yourself.
