I have a Sony Hdtv Ready rear projection tv that has a dvi-hdtv input, is that the same as the hdmi output on the vip-622 or is it something totally different? Will i be able to hook up to the dvi input or will i have to use the component cables? Which one will give me the better picture? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, pajer

See the attached images of the 2. They do make adapters and gender changing cables for these 2 connections. Well uploads are not working so here are some links.

Hi Pajer
What is your display's model number?
Generally speaking feed a digital display a digital signal, and feed an analog display (ie crt) an analog signal (ie: component).
Your mileage may vary and will the quality will depend on what source is doing the better digital to analog conversion,
Happy viewing!!
