DVR sticking when fast forwarding

Help. I have two DVRs in my home. Both R15. They have both begun to stick when we try fast forward or skip. That is we hit either the fast forward or skip button (doesn't matter which) and it goes through about a commericial and a half then freezes. Has this been happening to others? We don't currently pay the extra monthly fee to protect the equipment. Can we add this at any time to get this looked at? On the front of my receiver there is a reset button behind a door, would it help to push this button. Thanks for any help.

Yea, definitely try a red button reset or do it through the Menu button; it sounds like a software glitch if they both acted up at the same time.
