This Wednesday they are showing Yankees/Braves instead of the rematch of the 2008 World Series.

Isn't there some kinda issue with Comcast or whomever the main cable provider of cable is? One of my best friends lives in Philly and he was complain about WANTING Directv but if he wanted to see the Phillies and the Flyers, he had to have comcast or something like that....

What Ehren is taking about is different, ESPN has nothing to do with Comcast and can televise any game they like. They obviously believe the Yankees/Braves will get higher ratings than Phillies/Rays. It's all about ratings and ad dollars.

The Comcast issue only affects those actually in the Philly market...for baseball, basketball and hockey you cannot see your home team because Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia does not allow itself to be carried by DirecTV. If you live out of the Philly market (from what I remember Ehren is in Wisconsin) you do receive their telecasts on the sports packages.

Can you blame them? Nobody wanted to see that matchup in the WS last year anyway. Red Sox-Dodgers would have been a much better draw. Why should ESPN show a game that America basically shrugged its shoulders at last year?

Personally I'd rather watch Rays-Phillies, and that has nothing to do with the Yankees.

It's the Braves I can't stand watching. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

It's amazing how far they have fallen.

After making the playoffs for what seemed like forever, it's been a while.

Let me put it to you this way, Bill: the last time Atlanta made the playoffs- 2005- Joe Thornton was still the captain of the Bruins.

Most of that is due to the lackluster personalities left in the broadcast booth. The Braves game was the only game on the other night and as I listened to it I felt the same way! And I LIKE some of the players on that team....McCann, Escobar, Kotchman, Chipper and the like. But LISTENING to it was like "white noise".

This is so true. I long for the days of Ernie Johnson, Sr., Pete Van Wieren and Chip Caray in the Braves booth!

"Boog" even had the audacity to say to Joe during a game one night recently "What just happened? I wasn't paying attention to the game." THIS IS THEIR PBP MAN!!! Joe just laughed, took it in stride and said "Boog...I've worked with many men who weren't paying attention before. But you're the first to admit it on the air!!!"
