Ok so I was out playing with some LNB's I got to upgrade a customer so they can do more than 1 receiver. Since I don't have a 36" dish here I modified a Dish 500+ to hold the LNB's.

Strange thing is I could get Galaxy19 with no problem, but could not get AMC4 to work. Even though I was showing a lock on the AMC 4 with my superbuddy. Strange part is that the receiver I was using (Coolsat 5000) would show a lock on AMC 3 at 103. So I am not sure if it was the receiver showing the AMC4 as AMC3 or if I was really hitting AMC3. What really suprised me was that I was getting History, Biography, and I think CNBC off of this satellite.

So do you think the receiver was acting strange, or was a really getting AMC3. Could it be the shape of the dish that was causing this?

I was getting all kinds of channels on both satellites so that was kind of fun, I just don't speak the languages spoken on most of them :) Any way I am just trying to learn this FTA stuff so it was an intresting experiment for me.

You won't be able to get the LNBs close enough for 4 degree spacing that you need for 101W & 97W on a dish 500. The Focal length is just to short.

AMC1 is at 103W...AMC3 is at 87W so it was probably AMC1

wesco is right...that bracket for the 2 LNB's is for the 90cm dish that satelliteav, glorystar and 3ABN sell. Its a specific model that works

The LNBFs are GEOSATpro SL2 - Standard type - LO Freq. 10750 / Dual Linear 11.7 - 12.2GHz

The Focal Length looks way too close to the reflector for proper illumination.
