Firefox 3.5

I've read that it's buggy, but thatnks to the positive reviews here I'm currently downloading..

I have been running FF 3.5 for a couple weeks now, and I don't honestly notice much speed difference from FF 3.0. I also had a couple crashes. But it's not anything severe enough to make me go back to 3.0. All my plugins still work too which is good.

I started to upgrade myself and it said the "Microsoft .net framework assistant 1.0" is not compatible with the update and it would be disabled. I really don't know what the Microsoft .net framework assistant is. Could someone tell me please?

You should have the .net framework 3.5 on your computer. When is the last time you updated your OS with patches? Ever?

i had to go back to the previous release. my norton 360 isn't compatible with the new firefox yet :(

Guys never mind 3.5 for the time being , 3.0 can be sped up by doing this guarantee to work.

Speed Up FireFox
This is an article on How to Tweak Firefox for Faster Browsing. Your browser might be set for Dial-Up and you don't even know it.

1. Open your Firefox browser.

2. Type "about:config" into the address bar and press enter.

3. The page it takes you to should look similar to this picture and now you should type "network" into the Filter input box. No need to press enter it will automatically update and then you need to scroll down until you see "network.http.pipelining". Note that it is alphabetical order.

4. If the value for "network.http.pipelining" is set to false double click and it will change to true. If it is already set to true please move on to the next step.

5. Now double click "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" and you should have an input box pull up. You are going to want to change the value to "10" and then click "Ok"

6. Now you are done. Type whatever URL you want into the address bar and watch Firefox load faster. Enjoy!

Why ignore 3.5? It is working great for me.

Will that trick work to make 3.5 even faster?

Am not saying to ignore 3.5 but simply implying that 3.0 could be made faster, am not to sure about 3.5 but when i get a chance a'l try it out for you.

Tried it, and it's not that noticeably faster... Do I need to close/reopen FF 3.0 entirely to notice any appreciable difference?

FF is far faster than IE6, but there are compatibility issues I've noticed on a couple of sites, so I occasionally use IE for those, but FF has become far-and-away my browser of choice...
