LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) ABC has given the go-ahead for a full season of its new comedy "Freddie," which becomes the network's third freshman series to earn a back-nine order.
Through five weeks on the air, "Freddie" is averaging about 8.2 million viewers per episode. It draws a 3.5 rating among adults 18-49, tops for its half-hour and an improvement over "George Lopez's" 3.2. It also builds on "Lopez" in the adults 18-34 and 25-54 demographics and is ABC's top-rated comedy ("Desperate Housewives" not being counted as a comedy in this case) in all three measures.
The show joins dramas "Commander in Chief" and "Invasion" in earning full-season pickups. ABC has yet to decide the fate of its other new comedy, "Hot Properties," which has drawn mediocre ratings on Friday nights, and the drama "Night Stalker," which is struggling on Thursdays.
