Please help!
Recently I acquired an old Viewsat VS 2000 Platinum Satellite receiver.
I would like to scan all FTA channels on Galaxy19, but that satellite is not even listed on my receiver.
Do I need a new firmware or ... something else to update?
If need the new firmware where I can find one?

You can add the satellite or change the name, maybe it´s listed on your receiver with its old name Intelsat Americas 9

actually it would be one of the following
Telstar 5 (or T5)
IA5 (not 9)
Galaxy 25

but as noted you can use any satellite listed

Welcome to the forum.

In the antenna setup menu, look for a sat that is listed at 97[SUP]0[/SUP] W. The name doesn't really matter.

Another thing if you plan on firmware changes you will need the rs232 null modem cable and loader software. Also if you PC does not have the rs232 port you will need a rs232/USB adapter as well.

you actually need old hacker firmware pre sept 11 2007
that was the last firmware that had blindscan,a must for fta receivers

On 97W, I wouldn't worry so much about blindscan as long as you can enter and scan individual transponders, you should be ok.
