Goodbuy Discovery Times??

Well, it always seemed to me that the "Times" part of the channel was pretty much in name and investment only and almost nothing to do with programming. While anything is possible, I don't see why they would make any major changes just because the Times is out. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

My hope is "Discovery World" - a channel built on the 24/7 feed of BBC World, but including some of the documentaries currently shown on "Times", as well as other English-language international newscasts (CBC, German, Russian, French).

To avoid duplication, international newscasts and/or documentaries could be scheduled at times when BBC America (another Discovery network) is already showing BBC World.

My thought is this would give Discovery a place to show serious documentaries, but reduce the current schedule of at least 70-75% repeats each day.

I also think they should seriously consider offering the documentaries as a free VOD service.
