Grill It

I've been eyeballing Weber charcoal grills at Sutherlands, might snag one this weekend if they still have... haven't cooked on a charcoal grill in at least 15 years.

I picked one up earlier this year. Already have the gas grill but for some things, charcoal is just better. If it's a quick cook I'll use the gas but like today for the ribs it's fun to use the charcoal.

This weekend was a good time to buy charcoal as both Lowes and Home Depot had it on sale.

I should have stopped this morning on way home from work & got, they had a 15% off sale but after 24 plus hours up was too fried to think... I use Charcoal for my Orion so I keep some on hand at all times, even have some mesquite chunks from having a brinkman smoker a few years back.

real wood is all I use now because I have a bunch of dead peach trees in my back yard from the drought conditions Oklahoma has been facing for the past few years.
when ever I need wood to grill or smoke with I grab a chain saw and go cut down what I need.
I also have hickory on my property.

Nice medium rare Ribeye ...

If you like a good Ribeye you should also take a look at the Chuck Eye. The are referred to as the poor mans ribeye. Basically cut from the 5th rib where the ribeye is from rib 6 to 12. Only get two of them per cow and aren't always available as many butchers keep them for themselves. Saw some at the store yesterday for $5.99 where the same size ribeye was close to $18 for the steak.

Yesterday was a great day to try and do wings for the first time on my smoker/grill. They turned out perfect.

I like those also, this one was leftover from hunting and was begging to be grilled... ;)

Today was a great day to make some turkey, potatoes and bread out on the grill. Everything turned out great.
