HD Channel List: Dish Network vs DirectTV

dfergie, a couple of corrections. Spike TV HD is missing. According to a Spike TV press release, Spike TV HD will start showing HD on January 1st. Also Bravo HD can be taken off the no HD spotted yet list. I've seen HD on Bravo HD.

Hi Don F,
You have skew in the Sports list so that the Direct is missing a line, I think.

Yes, that's true. Starting with FSN New York the channel number in the D* column are off. You need to insert a new cell in the FSN New York line and set the channel number to 624 and move the rest of the number down a line. When doing that however, I noticed that the channel numbers for MSG HD and NESN HD were reversed.

Also these HD RSNs are full time channels that show a mixture of HD/SD. I don't think all are colored coded correctly.

1. Comcast SportsNet Chicago (640)
2. Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic (629)
3. FSN Detroit (636)
4. FSN New York (624)
5. FSN Prime Ticket (653)
6. FSN Southwest (643)
7. FSN West (652)
8. MSG (621)
9. New England Sports Network (623)
10. SportsNet New York (625)
11. YES (622)

Also D* added Tennis Channel HD and CSTV HD this morning.

For the D* PPV channels you might want to say that they're not 24x7. I've seen a number of them shut down on evenings when they need the bandwidth for NBA-LP and/or NHL-CI. Example, check ch 177 and 178 for today, 179 goes down at 6PM CST until 11PM and 178 down from 6:57PM CST until 12:30AM tomorrow. On other nights I've seen even more of the PPV's go down.

BTW, NBA-LP in my guide shows it starting at 751-1 and goes t 763-1.

Changed a little, debating on adding new color for part time on air/part time HD channels... ie FSN's etc...

Tennis HD and CSTV are listed as RSNs. They should be up there with NFL, NHL, NBA etc...

Also Yes HD should be marked light blue as it is a full time channel that shows a mix of HD/SD.

FSN Cincinnati and FSN Bay Area are listed as full time but I think they are part time. For sports channels, the -1 is usually indicative of a part time sub channel.

Let me know which RSN's belong to the new color...(and if that's the right color to use)

For D* these are the full time channels which show a mixture of HD/SD. So they should be light blue.

1. Comcast SportsNet Chicago (640)
2. Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic (629)
3. FSN Detroit (636)
4. FSN New York (624)
5. FSN Prime Ticket (653)
6. FSN Southwest (643)
7. FSN West (652)
8. MSG (621)
9. New England Sports Network (623)
10. SportsNet New York (625)
11. YES (622)

All other RSNs are part time, but when they are online they only show HD since they are game only channels. So IMO, green is appropriate for them. IMO we don't need an additional color at least for D* channels.
