Product to Help Ease Installation Time, Complications

Hughes Network Systems (HNS) launched the DirecWAY DW6000, a new terminal enabling multiple computers in a user's home office to be connected to broadband-via-satellite service. DW6000 enables Ethernet connectivity and requires no phone line or additional software.

DirecWAY DW6000's key features include:

*One-step "plug-and-play" networking that eliminates the need to install drivers or other software.

*No dedicated server required for sharing connection with multiple PCs.

*Ethernet technology for quick installation and device connectivity using any router, or in home wireless (Wi-Fi) network.

*Compatibility with Windows and Macintosh operating systems.

*More efficient use of hard drive space.

*Increase in overall system speed.

The DirecWAY DW6000 costs $59.99 per month for unlimited hours of high-speed Internet access. Hardware and standard installation is $599.99, including dish, modem and standard installation. In addition, HNS offers a 99/99 plan, in which customers pay a $99.99 upfront fee, with a 15-month contract of $99.99 per month, including dish, modem and standard installation. At no extra cost, all DirecWAY subscribers receive 10 Megs server space, five free email accounts, and 24/7/365 tech support.

An upgrade program is in development for existing DW4000 CE and PE subscribers. DW6000 will also support services offered for new CE/PE customers. For more information on the DirecWAY product, visit http://www.direcway.com.
