Would a hopper 3 and possibly a 4k Joey work on pay-as-you-go account. I saw an old post on a different forum saying that dish only allow hoppers on regular plans. I was thinking of ordering a hopper and a Joey from dish depot

Hello Dud. We do allow a Hopper 3 and 4K Joey part of our Pay-as-you-go accounts. It sounds like you are planning on purchasing them separately. If that's the case, we can help you add/activate them to your account by clicking this link: Direct Chat. -Caleb S

DISH CHAT:

Rachel (17:44:25 GMT) : Hi, Tom! How are you doing today?

Tom (17:44:35 GMT) : Is Caleb S around?

Rachel (17:45:15 GMT) : I don't know who are you talking about, Tom. Can you tell me more about it?

Tom (17:45:48 GMT) : Never mind. Can Get a Hopper 3 and a Joey on a Pay-As-You-Go account?

Rachel (17:46:04 GMT) : I am willing to help you regarding this. Just give me a moment to pull up your account so I can check on this.

Rachel (17:46:08 GMT) : May I have the phone number associated with your account or the 16 digit account number listed on your DISH bill?

Tom (17:46:31 GMT) : This is just a general qs.

Rachel (17:47:20 GMT) : Oh I see, and the answer is yes, we can upgrade a Pay-As-You-Go account into the Hopper 3, Tom.

Tom (17:47:45 GMT) : How long has this been available?

Rachel (17:48:32 GMT) : The Hopper 3 is available since XXX, Tom.

Tom (17:49:05 GMT) : No, no. I mean how long has the Hopper 3 been available on a Pay-As-You-Go account?

Rachel (17:50:11 GMT) : It's always available if the account is eligible to be upgraded to Hopper 3, Tom. It actually depends on the accounts' eligibility to have that kind of receiver.

Tom (17:50:56 GMT) : What makes a Pay-As-You-Go account eligible for a Hopper 3?

Rachel (17:52:16 GMT) : Unfortunately, we do not have any information about it on our end, Tom. However, I can check your account if you are eligible to be upgraded to Hopper 3.

Rachel (17:52:18 GMT) : May I have the phone number associated with your account or the 16 digit account number listed on your DISH bill?

Tom (17:53:44 GMT) : I'm done.

DISH PHONE CALL:

Next, I called DISH on my wife's phone so I could act like a new customer.

I was able to get a "specialist" to confirm that you can actually get a Hopper 3 and Joey(s) on a Pay-As-You-Go account. However, you'll have to purchase all the equipment.

Of course you will have to buy your own equipment for a Pay-As-You-Go account. That's month to month. I wouldn't expect Dish to lease me equipment for just a month of service... There would be a loss there, even for a year....

Not everyone knows this, especially new customers.

Thanks for checking. I got a really good deal for 2 month old Hopper 3 and four 4k joeys for only $330. Of course i checked with dish and there was no money owed on the equipment. I will probably sell the three 4k joeys as i only need 2 receivers saving me more $$

You can lease equipment on a pay as you go(PIA) account. Just requires a 24 month contract and is not a pay as you go...

So I had Dish installed yesterday :(
