HOPPER 3 UPGRADES

One thing that is funny about this situation is, technically Dish still has 4 more days (counting today) to have the Hopper 3 released by "the end of the month" as they have been saying, looks doubtful though. I wonder, have they EVER released anything on time? Not being sarcastic, I really wonder have they ever made a launch date? Haven't really kept up with it.

So for those who ordered, and were shipped, a Hopper 3, let us know if you get an email saying "there's an issue on Dish's end that won't allow activation of these receivers until further notice. We'll contact you as soon as we know it's possible to proceed." :p

Thing is, we all know that those who ordered them, will hook them up and try and activate them right away, no matter what they've been told....
I won't try to activate if he gets back with me and lets me know one way or the other. I am sure that he did send them out in good faith. This is the first time I have patronized that particular retailer, but I can say that I received a very good deal, and extremely good customer service from them, based on that I don't think they just shipped them out to be shipping them out and to make a quick sale.

I can't remember if they had issues with the release of the Hopper 1 or Hopper 2. I don't remember it being too big of a deal but I may be wrong.

You're starting to sound like the member who has been mentioned above that seemingly got the boot. He tried to hold Dish to their commitments, down to the day. If Dish said, "end of summer, 2015", he would point out that they had until Sept 22, or else. Haha !! Or else what ?

You haven't rec'd any Hopper 3 units yet, have you ? If not, would you know they're at least on the way ? You don't have to say, "yes, we have some on the way", I just mean, does your supplier tell you every time they ship stuff ?

I don't think he meant it like that. I think he more or less meant it doesn't have to be tomorrow, there's more time in January, not just 1 day.

My distributor has them in stock and I placed my order last week. They told me it wouldn't ship until this week. Basically they are waiting on word from Dish to ship them out. They were unable to tell me when I truly think it's because they do not know. I thought I would have received mine yesterday but it didn't show up. I usually do not receive any shipping info and I have not received an invoice yet. My distributor is only an hour away so I get my shipments the next day, no need for shipment tracking.

I was teasing bobvick....

The bigger point is, who cares or what happens if Hopper 3 units can't be activated until Feb 4th, March 1, etc ? Life goes on....

Okay, even bigger point - should Dish start supplying and activating Hopper 3 units on January 31st, come hell or high water, software ready or not, and just go for it ? You know, to meet the deadline they gave ? My name isn't on the waiting list and I would prefer Dish make them available when things are really ready.

It's not top secret, it's just that I don't want to advertise for the dealer, since a member kind of got chastised for telling that he had them in last week and throwing the name about a bit too much, but DishDepot.com a dealer in Southern Florida has them in stock.

The user is welcome to come back after they time is up. If you want to read what happened as it happened start here. http://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/posts/3806361/

And here is my explanation of things after I had to unfortunately ban him. http://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/posts/3806503/

And that is that.

That's what I meant, I was really legitimately asking if they had ever met a released date. I haven't kept up, I was with DirecTV when the Hopper 1 and 2 came out. I was with Dish when the 922 came out, I can remember waiting to get one of those. When I got one, seems like it was April of 2010, I was the first one that the particular RPS that serves my location had ever installed. Seems like we had to wait forever to get those back then.

I think you guys are too nice in trying to protect the retailer and the distributor. If they sent them out early before they were supposed to, it's on them. Go ahead and try to activate them. If they get into trouble it is their own fault.
