Hopper S222 Feedback

Those with DHCP / Network connectivity issues. Turns out that the hopper does NOT assign a unique host name to each hopper. This is a major issue with most DHCP servers.

Two ways around it, since the name is based on the port you plug the ethernet into (hopper_eth0 or hopper_eth1) plug one hopper into top port and the other hopper into bottom port.

OR

Make sure only one DISH device has a ethernet connection and enable bridge mode so all other devices get IP's via MoCA.

I did the later, and most of my network related issues have been fixed.

I really think dish almost has too much equipment out there for these hoppers to support now with these hics. My system works perfectly exactly as designed. All hoppers are plugged into the network directly you can order anything Blockbuster that you want from any TV. My home media works perfectly Samsung allshare on my computer (thanks whoever recommended that). I can understand the bugs in the system which I did see that they have now corrected but most of complaints I have never noticed, ie, a joey lose connection, and I have a crapload of equipment to go wrong so I would think one would see these problems. So unless I have one of the best maintained dish network systems in the world which could be the case, I cant see where all these issues come from unless they are personal and need a service call to be corrected.

Looks like the fast forward and rewind issues that I was experiencing are now resolved with this update. Finally feels like we're back to s212 stability.

10 iterations later. I agree that 212 was a goodie. I like how fast they are working on this box. This box is here for the long haul, so it will probably be well supported.

Jumping off the Favorites channel thing is NOT fixed.
I'm not sure what you mean. But, if you are referring to the guide defaulting to My Channels, instead of staying on the last used Favorites list, mine has stayed on my last-used Favorites since yesterday. I can't remember the last time it went that long without going back to My Channels. Also, my Favorites seem to be retaining all of the local channels I added. For the last bunch of SW versions, it would always drop one or two.

Man, I hope they finally fixed those major annoyances for good!

I'm seeing a new issue with 222. When I'm watching something live and something else starts recording on another tuner, the screen just goes black. I had to change channels and then come back to fix it. It's happened twice to me today and I've never seen it before.

Not sure if its because of 222, and I just started a thread about this, about 30 mins into Prime Time and all PTAT recordings are ABC. All networks, NBC, CBS, FOX, all PTAT shows are recording ABC instead. I can watch live ok, but not anything recorded.

Same here.

Lately on one of my Joeys, if I rewind or skip back while watching a program, about 5 seconds into watching the replay, the program will jump back to live mode.

Well...when I turned the Hopper on tonight, the guide was back on My Channels. Argh.

Dish Engineers - Please fix this.

Dish really should fix it so that it stays on the customers choice. Although ALL SUB/ MY CHANNELS is my favorite list.
