How high is your BUD mounted ?

Mine is at 30 feet up. My house is in a canyon with some big oaks around. So a site survey ended up that the only place I could see east and west was five feet above my roof line at the far east end of my house. The advantage is, because of the trees, the dish isn't easily seen from the street or from most houses around me.

There isn't a spot near the ground on my property where I could get more that two satellites. I had to go where I did above my roof.

My 12ft is up about 15 feet.

Ever have any problems w/ the wind? My 39" in on the shed roof and am constantly up there alligning it.

I'd practically need to be high myself just to get up there and work on it.

Mounted on a 3" pole three ft high on my deck.Close to the ground to make it easy to clean and make any repairs or adjustments.

Am in the suburb of a major city and I had the perfect spot for my BUD.. however the minister of zoning (my girlfriend) just expropriated that spot for the new pool deck.
Now my only other possibility is the other end of the yard, but it needs to be high to clear all the trees. problem is, I can't really draw any attention to it due to our "picture perfect Milbury image" townhall is proud of.

When this project gets done, i'll be one happy camper.

sometimes. but when that happens i go on the computer and surf.

I have to use scaffolding when I am doing anything major.

5' dishes are made, and sold in other countries, but just don't seem popular here.
I'm sure you can get 'em on special order.
But with the general availability of surplus 6' Prodelines, I wouldn't bother.

I used to have a 5ft solid aluminum ring mount dish in the early 90's when I lived at home with parents. Moved out with my current wife and left it behind. When I asked about it about a year later.. dad had placed it by the curb and gone to whom ever took it. So sad indeed as I could of still used it today

it's only 3.5'' of ground space build around it ? gives free shade..

Snow is melting, BUD installin' is some upon me. My goal is to install a BUD discretely without attracting attention.

Am guessing there is no minimum as long as it's got a clean LOS. How high/low is yours?

Yep. City ordinances can limit the height.

When mine was up it was on a table that was 3 feet high (to clear the roofline)...total probably 4 1/2 feet

Both of those tables were made of that cheap particle wood so when I moved I cut them up....those things were so bloated it was like you threw a loaf of bread in the bathtub

Nice setup on for the stationary BUD. Have any ideas w/ one with a polar mount? Thought about the whole pole in a bucket w/ cement but that would just be a pain in the arse..

Also, I recall you installed a dish on a bumper, now a 2nd floor deck... is there a spot you DIDNT install on?

Nice set-up... unfortunately the minister won't agree to it. Is this the Sadoun 6 footer? Ive got the WSI 6 ft special... but folks say Sadoun's outperformes WSI...surprising b/c they both look the same.
