How to purchase access card and service?

Hi - I have an rca satellite receiver from a friend, I can connect it to my free-to-air disk and circular lnb and get a great signal from 101W. However it reports the access card has expired.

Anybody know how I can get a valid access card and buy service without having to buy the hardware? I called DirectTV at 1-888-777-2454 and they sent me to 'existing equipment'. Those guys could not help w/o an account and sent me back to create an account, but all they could offer is the hardware package with receiver, professional installation, and a one year commitment deal.

How to get just access card and service to use with what I have already?

Rcvr is an RCA DRD502RB, probably pretty old but I don't need HD or PVR.

You need to sign up for new service with new equipment, they probably wont activate your old box.

New accounts require new equipment after you have a new account the old equipment can be added to that account. You can't avoid the minimum 1 year commitment.
