    Hey,
We just got the Dish Network installed, and we had the installer block a few unwanted channels. He didn't tell us the password, and I've tried all the basic passwords people have been telling me to use. Tehy don't work. But I want one of the channels unblocked. Is there a way to bypass the lock code, and change the password? Or anyway to unlock these channels besides trying all 10,000 possible passcodes?

    Thanks,
    Zach

Any other ways other than calling or contacting the CSR's? I've had such long waits, and a very inaudible sounding person.

    Thanks,

Well there is another way but I'm not going to go there. If you run a search on this site you might find it if it wasn't deleted.

Yes, DISH will be happy to unlock them as long as you are the adult and not the child. :)

Funny part is that other way, would be hellova fun if it breaks the receiver, then dish knows about it, "How did this happen" they would all ask!

Not to mention, adult PPV, shows up on the bill and on the receiver w/ time, and description of what was purchased! Cant delete those!

The easiest thing to do is call the phone # on the bottom of the work order to the office the tech came from. They can call the tech and get the password from him so that you can unlock the channel and change the password to something you will remember.

Otherwise, if you really want to deal with the CSC...instead of dealing with the prompts, just keep hitting zero. It will get you to a person faster.

Or he can just call DISH Network and go through the normal procedure like everyone else.

Have you tried the basics, like 0000 or 1234? Last 4 of your phone number or acct #

    Worth a try.
