HR22 Freezes and Crashes (Brand New)

My DTV HR22 receiver constantly stutters/jitters (with artifacts and often audio distortion) during playback, often bad enough that it makes watching things unbearable. Twice after severe stuttering the receiver has completely crashed and shut off forcing a red button restart.

It's aggravating because it takes several minutes to crash and then several more to restart essentially ruining everything I was recording.

Is this normal? My signal strength appears to be very high so it's not that. It seems to be worse when I'm recording 2 HD shows simultaneously.

Obviously it is not normal. Is this a replacement/upgrade receiver? if so was there any problem with the one you had before? If its within 90 days of being installed call D* and have them send an ERP (since it is a HR22 they will send a HR22 Replacement) or send a tech out just make sure he replaces it with a HR22. Do you have the HR22 plugged into a Surge Suppressor or UPS?

Is it overheating?

If not then its probably defective contact them and get another one.
