I'd say more than half the time that I get that message the apps end up working on an immediate 2nd attempt. All the other times they seem to show up a few minutes later. But it definitely can be a pain.
I've had the same issue and I was able to vet my hr24 to work by going into network services and change configuration type to manual then go into your router settings and create a Virtual Servers using the ip address of your receiver and using the stb services port, then create another one using ip address and audio services port, then create another one using ip address and 1701. I'll attach a photo not sure what router you use but mine is a Belkin.
