thanks. i did understand the procedure for getting a new satellite, probably by using a current position of an inactive satellite. now i have to figure out how to get 101 ku to show up in my list of satellites. i get tp's showing on the scan but then 101 doesn't show any tp's. will figure that out tomorrow. chas

In order to add a satellite to the Amiko HD265:

  • Go to menu
  • select installation
  • select satellite installation
  • From here, press the "SAT" button at the bottom of the remote
  • On the right hand side of the screen you will see some options
  • These correspond to the colored buttons on the remote
  • As you can see press the YELLOW button on the remote to ADD a satellite
  • Select Name, using the remote choose a name with the on screen keyboard
  • When done press the RED button on the remote to confirm.
  • Arrow down and using the numbers on the remote enter the Longitude of the satellite
  • Note the 0(zero) button is below the 8
  • Press the right arrow to change to W for west longitude here in NA.
  • Arrow down and select SAVE
  • Note it will now be saved but, it will not automatically put it in numerical order.
  • With the new satellite highlighted, press the WHITE button on the remote
  • With the up and down arrow keys move it to where you want it in the list
  • Press OK on the remote to save it
I hope this helps you out Chas. If not let me know and I will assist further! :)
