:welcome to Satelliteguys MIchaelSS!

There aren't any dangers, you haven't broken anything. Just remove the b band converter and you will be fine.

Okay, I have done that and I am still getting the 771 error. I brought the box to my house and hooked it up and it worked fine (H24-100). Could there be something else wrong somewhere then??

Thanks for the welcome Chip

Tried reset already, get to the loading screen with the bar and then stops and gives error 771. The dish is a SL 3 LNB with SWM. When going to the Signal strength screen All Transponder #'s are zeroed except the first # which is around 72 or 73. That would be on the 101. didn't look at the others.

Is there a power inserter in line somewhere? Was the dish aligned before?

Yes, there is a power inserter, and yes the dish was aligned before. The box was working, then one day just poof, nothing. that is when I brought it to my house and hooked it up. Everything worked fine here, with and without the converter. Been working on this off and on for about 2 weeks now and getting frustrated. Just don't know enough to get out of trouble.

The b band converter is needed for most hd channels to come through, but you will get some, about 1/4 of them IIRC. If you have the box on a swm system with a b band converter connected, I think the hd channels will still come through, but I'm not sure. A 771 error usually means an alignment issue. What are your signal strengths on all of the satellites, except those with an S after them.

Try to force a software download that will tell you if you can communicate with the dish at the very least, I would say repeat sat setup for step 2.

Well unfortunately the box and system are about 65 miles away. Won't be able to get back out there till this weekend. Just looking for ideas that I haven't tried and possibly to see if maybe something went bad. (power inverter, LNB, splitter??).

If anything has gone bad, it's most likely the lnb.

the BBC just converts one signal to one useable by the box. your receiver probably THINKS its still using the legacy LNB and not a SWM one. a repeat sat setup should force it back into sanity.
