I was wondering if I wanted to move from cable to satellite if I would need to rewire the house? I have been told the house wiring has a strong signal for the cable coming in. I have no idea what kind of wiring has been used.

Every few feet the wire should be stamped with information as to the grade of the cable. it might say RG-6 or Rg !1 or RG-59. Check it out and report back.

Not sure. It is a dbl story townhouse. There is a main hd tv downstairs that has a cable going to it. Then there are 3 tv's upstairs that have cables going to it. It all comes form one cable box outside the house if that helps

Either the cable is split in the cable box (preferred) or....UGH!...said splitter is in the attic.

EDIT: Question...is there a basement? If so, maybe there is a 4-way splitter there
