I live in a codo and can not mount the dish (30 inch Winegard) on the wall or on a poll in the ground.

Therefore, I am considering getting a tripod mount for my new dish and motor.

Is the tripod mount good?

Should the tripod be screwed onto a board or could I just put it on my balcony?

Does anyone have any other suggestions besides a tripod mount?

Thanks,

Mike

I went to Home Depot and bought a 2'x2'x3" paving stone and mounted the bracket that came with my Fortec 80cm dish to it with large TAPCons. It worked very well and still allows me the flexability to move it when a hurricane comes to town.

You could also put a 1 5/8" pole into a 5 gallon bucket and fill it with cement. That's a common method of portable mounting.

If you're using a motor, make the pole in the bucket a 2 3/8" one.

Make sure its completely level before it sets...

I've got this thing and it's supposed to do some stuff!
