I called in Dish Network because I had made some changes to my programming to ward off an extremely high bill and the remaining balance seemed to have not been charged when I was told it would be through the credit card autopay. The jerk who answered the call said someone had accidentally undone my credit card autopay when I did my programming changes. I then thought and asked about my Cinemax, I was still receiving it and had not been charged anymore for it. This Dish rep fed me some line about how as soon as the system noticed autopay had been removed Cinemax for a penny would be gone, and I would not be able to get it back. I seriously thought about doing nothing and seeing what would happen. The Dish rep said that if he redid my autopay the channels would stay and not drop off. Upon further questioning I was harshly informed Cinemax for a penny was not renewable after the year was up. It sounded pretty dismal to me. I was beginning to hate the way I was being handled. Due to the urging of this gentleman, I pulled out my credit card and read him the numbers. He said the amount due would be charged immediately and my Cinemax would be safe because he was re enrolling me. This really sucked I did not know I had a problem and I did not know I could not keep this offer after one year. I was only calling because I was concerned about my bill. As far as I knew and had been told the Cinemax offer was renewable. Later when I checked the charges I was found out I had been charged for the amount twice. I immediately called to see what was going on. When the activities on my account were reviewed it appears the representative I had spoken to was full of it and nothing had happened to my autopay before I had spoken to him. This Dish representative I spoke with appears to have just concocted some kind of hoax about my autopay just so he would receive a payment during his call. I am not sure why he did what he did, but it appears to have been som attempt to get money. I had never missed paying in nine years. I hope he got promoted out of there so this does not happen to someone else. I still do not know if the Cinemax offer is renewable, but I hope it is. That is my one cents worth.
