When they activate external storage I'd like the ability to do the following. I would like to get a high definition camcorder and then record the HD videos to my ViP 622 and store them on an external drive. I would think I could then select one from the external drive and play it in 1080i or 720p upconverted to 1080i on my 1080i display conveniently without having to use the camera to play them. Is that too cool to be true?

Yep, that would be cool. But I don't think anyone can tell if it will be possible or not until they activate the ES feature. I'm sure if/when they do all kinds of experiments will be going on.

Would it be possible now but stored on the internal drive instead? That would be one hurdle that can be known ahead of time. I can't try it since I'm looking towards March to buy a camera.
