First, the Hawks get OBLITERATED by the C's.

Now, Marian Hossa, the EX-THRASHER scores the series-winning goal for Pittsburgh to knock out the Rangers...

Good thing the Braves are beating up on the Reds.

I now declare Cleveland to be the most depressed sports city in existence! :D

How about Buffalo?

Bills- 0-4 in Super Bowl

Sabres- NO Stanley Cups

Both teams with countless bad luck over the years

Cleveland has more titles than Buffalo, so I consider Buffalo the most snakebitten sports city.

i think we can ask you that same ? about cleveland

Last year was a "pretty good" year for us. Actually depends on how you look at it........

Jan. 8, 2007: OSU Football- National Championship Loss
Apr. 2, 2007: OSU Basketball- National Championship Loss
June 14, 2007: Cavalier's- NBA Finals Loss (0-4)
Oct. 21, 2007: Indian's- ALCS Loss (3-4)
Dec. 16, 2007: OSU Soccer- National Championship Loss
Dec. 30, 2007: Brown's- Miss NFL Playoffs on tie-breaker

Not really a fair comparison.

Buffalo has 2 professional sports teams. (Is Hockey still considered a major sport btw). This discussion should be limited to a city representing at least 3 of the 4 major sports.

Nevermind the beating Atlanta is taking from a strictly wins and loss perspective, how bout the national beating being doled out about how racist Atlanta is.

The reports that Atlanta wont accept Matt Ryan because he is white?

The Starting Five » Blog Archive » Matt Ryan Or Michael Vick: For the Fans, Is It All About Black and White?

Yesterday one of the radio shows had a big discussion about the fans not accepting Matt Ryan because he’s not black. White people pulling the race card, imagine that. CBS 46 anchor Gil Tyree sort of got the ball rolling on this debate.

This is a sample of what he had to say to Peter King after the draft:

“This city’s history is built on racial divide,” says Gil Tyree, sports anchor for WGCL-TV in Atlanta. “Michael Vick had a hold over this city that no athlete will ever have again. Everybody wonders, ‘Is Mike coming back?’ Or ‘When’s Mike coming back?’ These people won’t forget him. He’s a messiah here.”After Ryan was picked, Tyree led his sportscast by saying, “It’s now officially the end of the Michael Vick era.” Afterward, when he was asked how area fans would receive their new quarterback, Tyree said, “No matter what Matt Ryan will do, he’ll never be accepted.

Imagine if a white anchor said that about a black QB? Im sure that guy would be unemployed today.

So a TV anchor who made an ignorant comment is now the spokesperson for every sport's fan in the black community?! Regardless of race, I think any smart person can agree that what Vick did was wrong and deserved punishment. The Falcon's drafting a QB (regardless of race) was the best thing they could do this year. After the initial comparisons die off, maybe we can all put this Vick story to rest. This move clearly signifies that the Falcon's are moving on, hopefully the locals can do the same.

yes, why would you think otherwise? some including me would consider it the only major sport
baseball fan but not a diehard like hockey

ESPN did hockey a favour by dropping it, it didnt fit in their hiphop themes thank god

Ryan is just more of what they already have in Harrington. Good luck Atlanta!
