I immediately though "tar pits". No, it's a blocks-wide sink-hole with a "primeval world" presumably down below.
A massive sinkhole mysteriously opens up in Los Angeles, separating part of a family in an unexplainable primeval world, alongside a disparate group of strangers.
And here I thought Burroughs' Pellucidar series was stupid!

To me it seemed a lot like Land of the Lost. When you go over the edge of the rapids, or in this case the sinkhole, you enter a time vortex. In this version they end up in the same place but way earlier.

It wasn't bad and I like that kind of thing so will probably watch it until I am disappointed by it's early cancellation before the storyline plays out. :rolleyes

At least 'Lost' to a season to get to time warped deliniation.

Manifest did it in mid 1st season.

LaBrea went 'all in' with first episode.

From the 1st preview I had seen,
I was hoping for
Prehistoric animals invading modern city as the primary plot.

Reminds me more of "Interstellar" and communications between time and space. The Raptor's red footprint was questionable. IMHO

Started watching last night. As corny as I expected but the babe is nice. :thumbup
Us a few days ago, on Ep 9, should finish it off today.

By the way, watching it via Peacock, the picture is so much better then my recording on my Tablo, one of the best 1080P presentations for a TV Show.

I cannot imagine how bad it would look on a Traditional Provider.
