To clarify "certain models", this only applies to international models. If you have Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc, those dates mean nothing to us.

Yup. That's why I decided to go with the Nexus 5.
My S3 was OK. But, I won't miss it.

I thought about the Nexus 5 but downgraded camera and much smaller battery is making me think twice. I am a power user. My Note 2 lasts the whole day without issue. Since I root and rom my phones my options are endless.

However with Samsung US carriers are pushing out updates much faster.

I wish it was coming for the S3 at the same time as the others but 3 or 4 months isn't too bad.
