Locast Pays Networks $32 Million to Settle Copyright Lawsuit

That's really sad. The networks and cable companies are just greed, money-grubbing maggots!
I'm not sure how soliciting and accepting substantial (significantly greater than cost of operations) "donations" for something that isn't yours to sell is any less abhorrent.

I doubt there will be another Locast type service, unless it is operated by a service that pays the networks. A service like Locast could operate, but the networks would get plenty, so a service would cost a lot more. Services like Dish & Direct carry locals legally, so streaming markets is possible, but again there is no free lunch.
