A lot of you talk on here about the 811 "locking", does it do something to lete you know it's "locked" or is this just a term you guys use for saying it shows the picture correctly?

They mean the receiver freezes and won't respond to any buttons you push, be it trying to change channel, turn power off, etc. You have to reset receiver by holding power button in(on receiver) for at least 10 seconds, then let go.

I think he is referring to the 811 locking on the OTA broadcast. It locks and shows a picture. It doesn't lock and you get a "No Signal" screen or the 49% thingy.

When you are in "Scan DTV" and it locks your signal bar goes green and it says "locked."

When you are punching in a station number, "locked" just means the receiver locks onto the signal and displays the channel.

To further clarify, this all refers to OTA digital channels, not satellite.

What is channel 9950?

Control both units with one receiver?
