The module with the rover is supposed to enter the atmosphere of Mars on February 18, 2021, and "drop" the research vehicle in the Jezero crater. The Perseverance rover will carry out work for at least one Martian year (about 687 Earth days). A lot of time and money is spent on Mars exploration. I hope it will pay off soon.

Don't forget this coming Thursday is the day:
NASA's Perseverance rover will make its final descent to Mars on the 18th of February 2021 at approximately 12:55 p.m. PST. ... On Thursday, February 18th, 2021, at approximately 12:55 p.m. PST (3:55 p.m. EST) the rover will plunge through the thin Martian atmosphere at 12,000 mph and land at the Jezero Crater
