Hi All,

Does anyone else besides me, notice the substantial signal strength swings with this mux ?
Without any weather issues occurring, some days I receive it with a signal strength of between 28-49% other days its 61-72%. All other transponders on this satellite remain steady and unchanged.
I know from time to time signal strength varies on all satellites, but this is a substantial difference IMHO.

I usually watch their mux on 103w KU. I just checked 105w C and right now I'm getting a solid 75-76Q for NBC and Cozi. I will check it over the next few days to see what happens. Any particular time of day that you notice lower signal?

FTA4PA,

Thanks for your response.
I just checked (10:30 AM) and my signal on this mux is bouncing between 31-52% strength.
There is no particular time of day I have this issue.

John

The only issue I have with the NBC mux is the audio. I suppose that there's a receiver that can recombine the multiple audio streams but most of us probably couldn't afford it.

My 9000i shows 98% SQ but I don't trust the 9000i statistics.Actually, I don't trust any AliOS receiver statistics.

Ok, will check at different times over the next few days to see if it changes. Still a steady 75Q right now using Amiko Mini HD SE.

I'm getting 85% Q on that NBC mux on 105w and I can't remember ever having a problem with it to date and I do record some stuff off that feed as a backup to what I record from WVGN on 99w so it gets used. Only down side is the TS files from 105 are about 4 times larger than what I get from WVGN but it's OK for a backup.

As far as the audio goes, I just find out which channel plays the actual program audio and don't worry about the commercials and other junk. Works for me and it also works for the NBC mux on 103w.

You can't get a stereo output. I have to set up for mono because it's annoying to listen with the stereo setting.

johnnynobody,

As for the audio, I do what Lone Gunman does.
Many of the commercials come through with just the back round music...I can live with that.

Lone Gunman,

Thanks for your reply. I would love to be getting a quality of 85%.
Although my picture is a solid HD one, I would still like a better signal strength reading.

Just checked NBC and Cozi again, still steady at 75Q.

FTA4PA,

Thanks for the updates. They were much appreciated. :)
Not sure whats causing this issue with just the NBC mux.
The radio station feeds come in at a steady 71% and although scrambled, the Telemundo feeds are also steady, coming in between 67-71%.
I know many of you receive this satellite with a much stronger signal, but remember, my dish isn't totally parabolic after falling a few years ago as I moved it from its 20 foot high perch to a more user friendly 8 foot. I repaired it the best I could and to the naked eye, it looks good.

Yeah, that 7.5 ft dish probably isn't ever going to see 85%Q. I had a 7.5ft SAMI that was a PITA and wouldn't pick up some channels that most everyone else was getting. I finally gave that dish away when I got the 10 Unimesh. BTW, that 85% Q reading come from my 10.5 ft Raydx with a Micro HD receiver. You probably already know this, but bigger is better where Cband is concerned. And just think, I had a 12ft Conifer that was basically stolen from me back about 4/5 years ago by a scrap collector.

Lone Gunman,

When this dish was new, 20 years ago it performed great on both C and Ku.
I received many sats in the 75-80% range.
Today the strongest signal I receive is the CW mux on 91W.
Those average 75-77% with an occasional burst to 80%.

You are welcome! They are still at 75Q here this morning so unsure of the cause myself. If all channels dropped I would think it was a dish issue or maybe terrestrial interference. I suppose it still could be TI in a certain frequency range at different times of the day. Hopefully they are not dropping low enough that you lose them altogether? Yes, I do remember reading about when you lowered your dish. Hoping you can get it sorted out. Let us know if you find a cause and solution. :)

If you mean the NBC mux on 105w C-band, I'm getting 72-74% here in mid-Michigan on my Sami 7.5ft dish with a MicroHD receiver. It shows as DVB-S2, 8psk. Using a Titanium CK1S C/KU lnbf

I was having a similar problem with the ABC MUX on 99W yesterday evening about 6PM, but the signal wasn't fluctuating. It was staying around 95/90, but the picture was breaking up really bad. I think they change their FEC during prime time so people like us can't watch it. At 11PM last night, I went back to them and they were perfect. This seems to be the pattern on these channel.
