New HD Channels already showing up

I just got my replacement 211 and got it authorised when I noticed while I was setting up my HD favorites that ESPN2 and UniversalHD were already there however, Universal only has audio. They were not there ten minutes prior.

My parents has the HD package not the voom package. They should be able to get the Universal HD right ? They have Dish811 receiver I beleive.
Do you know what two channel being added and what channel numbers are they ?

At least you leased you didn't bought like people like me and got stock with a soon to be useless piece of trash.

I'm pissed I have to fork over $600 in a 2 month time frame, just to lease hardware! But I know what you mean. The ones who bought are in worse shape than me, as far as monetary value.

They can get the Universal HD if they upgrade to one of the new HD packs and upgrade the 811 to a VIP211.411 or VIP622.

They can try all they want. The new channels are flagged as MPEG-4, so they won't be able to see the channels without one of the new receivers.

They can not receive the new programming with an 811 receiver. They will need to upgrade to a 211 or 411 receiver. Dish is offering a $49 upgrade for existing customers with 811's but it also comes with an additional commitment. They would not have to Subscribe to the Voom channels to get UNIHD.

I'm afraid they gonna tell me to get rid of the dish and go with Cable instead...
Since they already have internet with them if they budle it up it might come out better deal than dish.

I just checked. All of the new channels are in the guide but are red since i just have the basic HD package. I pay per year and my contract is up in May so I will be billed in April. Will look into the new packages then.

Hmmm, I don't know the cost but originally I had AT180, Locals, HDpak, Voom and Superstation Pak (WPIX,WSBK etc) and my bill including the FL tax was $91. My new bill is $90.42 with all the new additions.

Well, you have to upgrade to the VIP211 or 411 to get the new channels and pay more for the new HD pack. Maybe even get the dish configuration changed.

My parents are in the same boat as yours... Cable just sound so much nicer and nicer. I just happen to go to Comcast site and they even offer discount if you stay with them for so many months if you're switching from Dish to cable.

I have a 211 & 921, I'm pretty sure she screwed up on the price, especially since I turned on my TV tonight to find half my programming gone.

Now the Tech from hell story. When I called in to tell them that I lost my programming on both receivers and advised him that after comparing the lost channels to the packages on the website. I had the HDSilver instead of the HDGold. He wanted me to reboot and I asked him to reauthorise my receivers. He then verified that I live in FLORIDA and stated " to get those channels sir, you need a Dish at 148 not 61.5" ROTFLMAO now. I would like to meet that Tech who could pull that off, I kept cool and continued friendly and got him to reauthorise my units. Wow, it worked and he felt like a hero but I'm still laughing.

I had 2 of my STBs drop out on Sunday. I called, they said they were having an issue. Could not reauthorize them because I had NHL Center Ice Package - they would have to readd it - and would give me credit for NHL Center Ice.

Today I check my bill online and saw it close to $400. WHAT A F ING MESS.

They charged me 2 x $109 for NHL Center Ice (which I paid $129 for in October already), moved me from AT120 to AT180 and made an absolute mess of everything.

Finally she said she was waiving the $5 charge for this call - and I said Damn Right you are.

Also, I have a C-band dish and I read a lot of stuff here about dropping Dish and going to C-band. The picture quality is great, but the available programming is severly limited. I think some people might be hurting themselves just to stick it to Charlie.

Actually you can upgrade your 811 to a 211 for $49 right now if you call. You will, however, have to choose one of the new HD packages or else you won't get the new channels.

Same thing happened to me.

STB's went down. Lost the hockey when they came back up. Got double billed to get it back!!!!

Just got my HD cable STB - bye bye DISH..........
