Well, It took Paypal to put a fire under this guy that sold me the Linkbox.
It was a little scuffed on the top so I assume it was used.
I have to pay the return shipping for something I have no control over.
ok, so you can't win them all....
You need not ask if I ever will use EBAY again!!!!!!!!
Question now is, do I order another Linkbox from the factory in CA.
or look elsewhere. Out of the dozens of receivers out there, I do
not have the necessary knowledge for making a decent decision.

I now have the Linkbox 9000i from Hypermegasat.
Same conditions - No ch and No Signal on the TV Toshiba.
Most likely I have some setting on the Toshiba set wrong.
There are a lot of settings on the Toshiba.
I took the Toshiba to a neighbors home and tested it.
Worked fine. So I think I have eliminated the TV being the problem
except for the settings. I followed Hypers advice and hit the v mode
many times and this did not work.
I doubt very much that Hypers unit is defective as he said he tests
all units before sending them out.:crying

Shanklej, I did some Googling for your tv model.Try this:
Once everything is hooked up.... turn on the TV ONLY.Wait a couple minutes, then turn on the LinkBox and positioner. At that point go into the <Input> on the tv and try to find the HDMI that shows the LinkBox setup menu.If you find it...you have to click 'OK" to set it.

For what ever reason, that model tv is known to not recognize some Inputs if the tv isn't turned on FIRST. If that don't work,it's beyond me.

<Keeping fingers crossed for you>

Update 7-2-2016
The Toshiba is definitely the culprit.
I substituted a Proscan TV and was able to get Araing on 58. So I
need to find out how to make the Toshiba work. It worked just
fine with the Openbox. I have a message in to Toshiba about this
problem and haven't heard from them yet.
I was able to get the vmode to go to 1080 on the Proscan

Success.
The Toshiba caused all the problems. A gentleman from the
Hypermegasat solved my Toshiba programming problem
for me. I don't understand the all the recommendations but,
if it works leave it alone.
I thank you Titanium for recommending the Linkbox 9000i.
My OPenbox must have been going bad for a long time.
I will have my hands full trying to fine tune the Linkbox.
For instance the color has a washed out look.
But the picture is very clear on 58 and no channels are half
scrambled like on the Openbox. I guess that was because the
Openbox was failing.
To soon to tell, but I think I am going to be very pleased with
the Linkbox.
Thank you Titanium for your help and all others.

My ancient Uniden sq530 pusher moves the dish but
does not put a menu to the Toshiba or Proscan screen.
So I guess it's time to bite the bullet and buy the
Titanium positioner. How and where do I order the
positioner????
Thanks
