NFL coaches that are out the DOOR!!

Dan Patrick and Mike Florio talked this morning about coaching, and they think the hiring/firing is probably done for this offseason unless Al Davis finds someone to replace Tom Cable, otherwise he'd be retained for the 2010 season.

The Raiders denied they've been interviewing/discussing canidates, but reports still persist of the Raiders pursuing out Sanford's Jim Harbaugh while someone in Oakland does his best Iraqi Information Minister impression. The belief is anyone with options will opt not to pick the Raiders, unless they're given enough power within the organization, leaving candidates like Fassel more likely.

Funny...I have also read that some of the coaches positions have been of some interest to some in the coaching fraternity. Interesting, there is more interest to be one of the coaches than be the ACTUAL HEAD COACH.

Interesting thing I found this morning....GOD I hope it's true....

As the rumors continue to fly in Oakland regarding the head coaching position, questions continue to arise on the situation with Raiders owner Al Davis.
With most of his transactions being questioned, it is now very shocking if Davis brings in a man that may actually give an impact to this ball club.
However, according to a few reports the past couple of days, there is some positive note in Oakland. Hue Jackson, the current quarterbacks coach for the Baltimore Ravens, is being interviewed by the Raiders for their offensive coordinator position. For those who question this decision, think again. Jackson had stints with the Atlanta Falcons and the Cincinnati Bengals, including an offensive coordinator position with the Bengals just a few seasons ago.
The Raiders offense has faced difficulty of balance. But most importantly, the biggest trouble for Oakland is the development of former No. 1 pick JaMarcus Russell. Russell has been criticized for his work ethic and love for football, and has not received positive feedback from Raider Nation. However, if Jackson joins the Oakland staff, this can be a positive for JaMarcus and the overall roster. Hue has made a great impact on Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer, who when healthy, has showed the potential of being one of the best in the game. In recent years, however, Jackson has worked greatly with Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, who has taken great strides of improvement in his sophomore season. Jackson seems to have the calmness as a mentor to quarterbacks, which can truly be a favor in Russell's development. Going through multiple coordinators and different head coaches, it's to early to give this young quarterback the "bust" label. However, if stability is there, maybe he can turn his career around. Whether or not JaMarcus Russell will turn his work ethic around remains to be seen.
However, we see there are some intelligent people left in the Raiders front office, who are able to see the potential impact Hue Jackson can bring to this Oakland offense.

A PFT article mentions Jackson, said in addition to OC it's believed he's also being interviewed for Cable's job. What sucks about that either way for the Raiders is they confirmed Cable isn't part of the interview process, so if he's hired as OC then Al Davis is assembling a staff for his coach (whomever that may be) to work with, rather than letting his coach bring in people. Not a very good thing for a team that needs help being a team.

meStevo already posted but just a bit more info and speculations?

Raiders announced the hiring of defensive line coach Mike Waufle in a press release. In it are possible hints Raiders coach Tom Cable will be back a second season. After praising Waufle's Super Bowl coaching with the Raiders in 2002 and with the Giants thereafter, the press release ends with this fun item:
"He and Coach Cable spent six years together at the University of California where they enjoyed working together."
It makes it sound like Waufle is a Cable guy, and that the two will be working together again. OR maybe the Raiders are just messing with us.
Al Davis was slated to meet with Cable again Friday, according to NFL Network. We'll see.

More from tha Rayda's!

Ravens QB coach Jackson spends 3rd day interviewing with Raiders - baltimoresun.com

Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson spent a third straight day in Oakland interviewing with the Raiders for a coaching position Thursday.

Despite media reports that Raiders owner Al Davis has recently been interviewing candidates for an assistant coaching position, it should not come as a surprise if Raiders coach Tom Cable is fired and Jackson replaces him, according to a source. The Raiders could not be reached for comment.

The Raiders like Jackson, 45, because he played a major part in the development of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer, and Oakland also likes what he has done working with Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco the past two seasons. Jackson, who has been with the Ravens for two years, also has ties to California, having held coaching jobs at Southern California, California and Cal State-Fullerton.

Yep....I figured as much. He will more than likely the offensive coordinator and the future Raydah's headcoach.

Schefter is a MAJOR Raider Hater. When that reports on other teams, it nothing but straight facts. When he reports he ALWAYS is looking to add his 2 cents and his OWN editorial when it is not needed.
