Yesterday I turned on my receiver and got a box that said my free HBO would be gone in 3 days. First time that has happened & it's nice to know. But then later in the day while watching a recorded program, I got the box again. This time it was annoying.

I'm ok with the box when turning on the receiver but not while watching tv.

I understand where you're coming from, but free in dollars doesn't always mean free in all other ways. They likely don't message the paying subs except for the banners they hoist when you first go to the channel.

At least in 3 days you will know why your HBO is not there now though. It's just a reminder that your premium freebie is about to end and you will either lose it or you need to add it to your account if you want to keep it.

It doesn't know *who* turned the receiver on the first time. What if it was an 8-year old who quickly hit "OK" so they could tune to Nick ?
